What I can offer.
I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor and an Accredited Registrant member of the NCPS (National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society). I am experienced in working with young people and adults, and can offer short or long term therapy. I offer a safe and confidential space for you to talk openly about whatever is troubling you, without fear of judgement.
Who I can work with.
Teens and adults. I welcome you to get in touch whatever life is throwing at you right now. Talking therapy can help anyone and everyone, no matter what you need support with.
What is therapy?
My job is to listen to you. I will be there to support you through whatever struggles you are currently facing. I am not here to offer advice, but to help and encourage you to find your own way through. When appropriate, I may offer some knowledge of theory that can support our work together, but above all I am here to offer kindness, compassion and understanding.
All I ask from you is that you are willing to talk openly, be honest and unafraid to explore. Be curious. Say the things you feel you can't say anywhere else. Be open to change and willing to participate fully in each session.
Whoever you are, whatever you are experiencing, we all struggle with aspects of life sometimes. I believe in putting the person above the problem. You are my focus. My hope is that I can help ease the strain, and by working together we can learn to journey a little more wisely.
My areas of interest - teens and new parents.
I work with anyone aged eleven and over, so please get in touch whatever your age or issue. I have experience and a particular interest in working with teens and parents.
My true passion is counselling in maternal/perinatal mental health and I am happy to have babies and younger children present at our online sessions. Although I like to think of counselling as a form of self-care, I know how difficult it can be to find 'child-free' time so we can work together to find something that suits you. Breastfeeding, bottle feeding, snack feeding, nappy changing and all the accompanying chaos... I've been through it all and will accommodate as best I can.
Being a teenager, juggling school or college with a social life, relationships, work and preparing for adulthood, is one of the most challenging times in life. It can be a time full of anxiety, with lots of decisions to make about the future. Many people find it can be helpful to have someone to talk to who isn't a friend, a parent or a teacher - someone who can sit with you and support you as you find your identity and your place in the world.
